Hi Melinda I enjoyed this video very much. I work with weaving and love including rug knots as I weave. This technique gives me a new view on things I can do. I am wondering if the backing materials and basics are discussed in another of your videos so I can try my own. Thank you from Irene, from Brasil. ❤❤
Thank you so much Irene. It makes me feel good to know you are adding rya knotting to your weavings in Brasil! Most backing material is linen warp and wool and linen weft, but people do it other ways, too. Here is a video shared by Paivatar where she is weaving on all linen. Mostly it is wool though. ua-cam.com/video/oPXrJQyWdAw/v-deo.html and here is another video I did showing how to do rya knots on the surface of a woven backing which is from Finland. ua-cam.com/video/lx2IuLAYdIQ/v-deo.html. And here is another one I did that shows th Norwegian backing quite well. Hope this helps. ua-cam.com/video/ubOVeMo8Z_Y/v-deo.html Cheers! Melinda
How can i buy this product scissors
Love it..fair play .shes a beaut...in racing green.
That's an interesting press, I have never seen one like that before.
Im so jealous. I do live in an apartment and wish i could have sheep and and be able to create from them. You are so lucky. Beautiful video thank you.
Very well played, but the title is Da Slockit Licht.
This is so wholesome 🫶🏼
What is your technique of using this broad axe at 4:19? The flat side to the log, or out? I am curious because the logman here ua-cam.com/video/hagvGTyEMUA/v-deo.htmlsi=DuO0pleQu5_GGaBF&t=1215 uses the bevel side in to the log. However he uses a different pattern of broad axe. He explains why he does it that way. Further he mentions19th century broad flat axes - probably the sort of you are using here.
Hi guys, how many kgs of wood charcoal required to make 1kg of iron from it's ore by such a blast furnace as in the video, realistically...not the theory ideal stuff... thanks
She never shows you how she adds another feather after she does the first feather so I don’t like the video
Absolutely brilliant! Love the tune, the voice and the dulcimer ! This is epic.
Thank you for this video, will definitely try a rug but the wool that is available in New Zealand. ♥️👌
I love all the stories she told about the plants, it makes everything really memorable
This is really cool!!! Thank you so much for explaining this. I’m excited to try making one!
Beautiful
This feels like history
Wonderful indeed, I like watching this video since I am a spinner and I spun on my Louet S10 spinning wheel.
Thank you.
Are not rya knot and rugs original from what is now Iran and some surrounding areas???. Also rya knot is named persian-turkish/azeri knot too. Anyone may explain me pleasee ❤
This was very informative. I feel like i can do this. Starting a sheep dairy farm to make cheese and other goodies. While i dread the cost, i feel i'll agree that work makes it worth it all. Do you have any recommended reading?
is it better to work in stockinged feet?
Hello! Thanks for sharing this. How do we find “Broom Corn”, what type is it? Could one grow this easily at home?
The seed I grew this year in my garden was called Hungarian Broom Sorghum. It did really well in the arid, high altitude climate here.
I am shearing my own sheep and have a pair of electric clippers but they are so heavy and scary to use I am going to try the blade method
How do you connect feathers together to make longer branches? Or do I just have to find longer feathers? Thanks!
Is the deeper one a BASS ? I’m comparing sounds of the various kinds - trying to.
Very very cool
Wow. This is so incredible. Just curious, how does she prevents the yarn from tangling up?
Lovely sound!
Здравствуйте какая марка ножниц у вас? как их можно заказать
Praise God for giving men wisdom and creativity. How fascinating is this!!
Absolutely beautiful and mesmerising to watch. Would so love to do this but will have to settle for just crocheting the scarf and letting someone else do the processing. I have a small ladder style scarf loom but in no way is as impressive as this loom. Thank you so much for sharing your Knowledge with us. Pricing items is always the hardest and I don't work nearly as hard as you.
❤

Hi, Ken, I've recently built a mountain dulcimer, but the bowed dulcimer has now caught my attention. I am very excited to build a bowed dulcimer, but I don't know any of the specifics about fret spacing, string length, etc. Can you tell me where I can get this info. Super excited...Craig from Rebel Pilot Flying Channel...
Hi; many years ago I bought a rug at a garage sale which the owners said had been made in Scandanavia. They knew nothing else. It has a date on the bottom, and what looks like a family tree. May I send you a picture? I'm wondering if this is a modern reproduction of a wedding rya rug. Thank you.
Thank you for this amazing power packed video on sheep wool to a wearable item. It answered so many questions. Well done video!!!
If these people were a time period, they would be 1700s Texas.
Thank you for putting this vid out. As a beginner trying to get setup, I was really trying to find out the dimensions and see how this worked. It looks like I'll have to start with some basic schedule 40 steel pipe in order to forge the superior copper tuyere.
This is a wonderful sound
Hi, does anyone know where to buy the supplies to make a feather tree ?
sweet job
Very informative and peaceful Gwen thank you

Hello, Bernadita! I am so happy that our video has help you start your own rya rug collection. And now YOU are a teacher, too. Keep spreading the word showing others and maybe a new rya style will begin in your community. Gracias! Melinda
Hi...Where do you get your supplies? Beads, feathers, and wire ?
Magnifique, bravo, from France 🇫🇷
Wow! Just . . . wow!
